Columbus Williams
​Compound Owner / GOonies AAU director / TRainer

Coach Columbus is the director of the Michigan Goonies since 2015, while also The Compound Owner. He has had multiple coaching positions from High schools to middle schools and was a long-time worker at Joe Dumars Fieidhouse. He is currently the Assistant Varsity Girls Coach at Dakota H.S. and has been the 6th & 7th grade coach at St. Lawrence Elementary school. He has coach multiple successful AAU teams and looks forward to continuing his work in the community helping kids reach their dreams and potential.

Rob Banks  
Manager / Head Trainer

Robert is a student of the game and still works to complete his goal of becoming an overseas professional basketball player. Because he still plays, he is always learning the new facets of the game, especially as the game continues to evolve. He is always, and will continue to be, enthusiastic and willing to teach it to all those that are willing to learn and grow to become the best that they can possibly be.

• One year high school letter winner at Benedictine High School

• 4 year college basketball player at Macomb Community College (2002-2004) & Olivet College (2004-2006)

• 2006 All-MIAA Honorable Mention

• 2x CBA Champion (2017, 2018)

• 8th Grade Boys' Basketball Coach at Brownell Middle School

Jon Stone 
Manager /Jr. Pistons Director

Coach Stone worked at Joe Dumars fieldhouse as a Program Director and Coach from 2004 - 2018 and has worked with multiple ages groups and kids in the Utica community. He was Gym Teacher and head coach of 7th grade girls and boys basketball along with track and field at Wyndot Middle School from 2013 - 2018. Coach Stone does amazing work with the youth, and we look forward to him helping more kids in the community for years to come.

Chene Rush 
Boys AAU Director / Jr. Pistons Coach

Graduate of Cass Tech (2002) lettering in multiple sports.  Attended Florida A&M University on athletic and academic scholarship.  Graduated with a political science degree.  Began coaching high school basketball at Oak Park High School 2008 (Assistant Varsity).  Became Lanse Creuse Central 8th grade coach (2009-2014). Assistant Coach at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Surry British Columbia (2010).  Associate Head Coach Farmington Hills Harrison during 2015-2016 Season. Associate Head Coach Hazel Park High School 2018-2019.  Voyageur College Prep JV Head Coach and Associate Head Varsity Coach (2019-Current)

Coach Sticks
AAU Coach / Jr. Pistons Coach / Trainer 

Coach Stick is a 3rd year coach inside of the goonies program. He has helped coach multiple kids to the collegiate level with his training. He is a very unique coach in our program that the kids gravitate to and like to work with. He has been the assistant Varsity Coach at Mt. Clemens Hs for the last 3 seasons. He definitely brings a certain type of energy to our program to help the kids.

Brad Jackson
Jr. Pistons Coach / Boys AAU Coach

Brad Jackson is a graduate of Sterling Heights Stevenson H.S., He was a coaching at Joe Dumars Fieldhouse from 2012 - 2017 helping to develop multiple kids in the community. He has been coaching with the Goonies since 2015 working with multiple ages and heading our 11U/13U teams. Since 2017 he has been the 6th grade coach at St. Lawrence Middle school having multiple successful years there.

Bret Thacker
G-League Coach 

Bret Thacker is a New Haven high school graduate the loves the game of basketball and teaching it to kids. 

He currently is the JV head caoch at Lakeshore H.S., He has been with the Goonies program since 2015 and was a coach at Joe Dumars Fieldhouse from 2012 - 2016. Coach Bret is a very passionate coach that knows how to get the kids going.

Angel Colon
G-League Coach 

Is a second year coach with the goonies organization as he worked with the 11U groups. He is currently an assistant coach at Lake Shore H.S. Staff on the JV program.

Sam Meads
AAU Coach

Sam started his coaching career at Joe Dumars Fieldhouse after graduating from Henry Ford II High school in 2011. While coaching at the fieldhouse he also served as a boys’ Freshman assistant coach at Ford for two years until moving to Kalamazoo to attend Western Michigan University from 2013-2015. After returning to the east side of the state upon college graduation, he took over as the boys’ Freshman Head Coach at Farmington Hills Harrison, and coached there for a year with coach Rush and coach Thacker before moving to Grand Rapids. Sam is currently in his second season as a boys’ varsity assistant coach at Byron Center High School while continuing to help the Goonies’ high school teams at tournaments throughout the summer.
